IGGI
In 2003-2004 the IGGI project aimed at women who had never had the opportunity to work with a computer or to find out more about the use of the Internet. During a 10-day practical training these women can qualify themselves (5 weeks, 2 days a week). The IGGI training material were jointly developed with the WABLIEFT partner, specialising in writing plain language. These materials are still available.
The Netmobiel
Between 1998 and 2004 the Netmobiel toured in the Kempen. This mobile training centre was equipped with the latest ICT facilities. It was especially deployed in order to train semi- and unskilled people, job seekers and people having some basic knowledge of ICT. The Netmobiel provided guidance for companies that want to invest in ICT.
The open mobile training centre
From 2002 to 2005 the KHKempen (Katholieke Hogeschool Kempen) had an "open mobile training centre" at its disposal. Two fully equipped computer classrooms were packed in useful cases. They contained 12 laptops, a printer, a server and an Internet connection. These open mobile training centres were deployed in the Kempen in order to initiate semi- and unskilled people and job seekers into ICT.
The WAI-NOT test
The "WAI-NOT test" is a instrument that helps to make websites more accessible for
- people who can communicate but have problems with reading and writing;
- people who have trouble with understanding complex and abstract information;
- people using symbols or pictures for communication.
The team consists of people working at the KH Kempen, WAI-NOT, and WABLIEFT. This team is currently also working with Anysurfer to create a platform that will provide with a coordinated advise on accessibility for different target groups.
